Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” —— Luke 9:62
Farmers who look back when they plow make crooked rows because they‘re not looking where they are going. Farmers who fix their eyes on a fence post, or other row marker, and steer towards it make straight rows. The new life Jesus offers you, will still be a tough row to hoe; but, if you keep your eyes focused on Jesus it will be a better life. With Jesus as your row marker it will be much easier to maintain a straight line.
Do you spend too much time looking back, beating yourself up over your failures?
Stop dwelling on the past. Don’t forget where you came from but realize where you are going is much more important!
Is Jesus your row marker?
Pray: Jesus help me keep looking ahead and not at my past. Let your cross always be my aim point. Help me keep your life the guide post of my life so that in following you I may be restored and made new by God’s great grace. Amen.
